About Our Company

How we started
Joseph and Mary’s Carpentry shop started almost by accident I was having a bad spring inspecting homes with little money and a lot of free time. I love wood working and my wife purchased a set of plans for a small wooden wall shrine that looked very nice. Encouraged by my wife, I made one and had so many comments about it that I adapted the plans so I could make several at one time. I enjoy working with wood and eventually that's all I want to do. In the mean time I have put my home inspection business up for sale and have taken a teaching job at a small Catholic school and will use the income generated from the shrines to subsidize my teaching career. Our plans include creating a fund raising program that will allow Catholic schools to make money and actually sell something to display their family's faith. I hope schools will see the advantages of our program and add it to there list of fund raisers. Within the next year we hope to have several quality Catholic items made of wood that are affordable and can be shipped across the United States, and if someone wants one custom made, I will be able to do that as well. By the way, my name is Joseph and Mary Katherine is my wife; hence the name Joseph and Mary’s Carpentry Shop. We have seven children of which three young girls are still at home, two sons are in college and two daughters are married with children of there own. link to more info
